The second annual Austin AI Film Festival brings directors, artists, producers, and technologists together at Zach Theatre on October 16 and 17, 2026. The program pairs films on a theater screen with conversations about the choices and tools behind them.
For CinemaMachina, being there means meeting other filmmakers who are testing the edges of the medium, watching the work together, and bringing those conversations back into the next film.
Friday / October 16
Masterclasses and panels move through the practical and artistic questions of generative filmmaking. The program includes discussions of directing, hybrid production, building original intellectual property, and the work being made for brands.
Filmmakers scheduled for masterclasses include Henry Daubrez, Billy Boman, Joni Dobrov, and Nik Kleverov.
Saturday / October 17
The festival’s official selection plays at Zach Theatre across film categories including shorts, features, documentaries, music videos, and brand films. Winning films from the earlier Global GenJam are also scheduled to screen.
Awards close the day. Selection and awards belong to the festival’s filmmakers and judges; CinemaMachina is attending as part of the film community.
The week before / October 8–10
David is registered for the festival’s 48-hour virtual Global GenJam, presented with Machine Cinema and AITX. Its winning films will join the October 17 screening. CinemaMachina will share David’s work when the challenge is complete.
